The National Association of Home Builders is currently working toward the publication of its Green Building Standards in 2008. This program, for residential construction, similar to earlier ones for commercial and industrial construction, will be based on a point system for various aspects of home construction, combined with consideration of site issues.

The panelization method itself will provide significant points, and the choices available through Smart Start Building Systems for energy efficiency and sustainability allow individual choices to determine the degree of green desired.
